Seoul, Mar 18 (EFE).- US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday denounced the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by some governments to surveil and misinform their citizens and defended efforts by Washington and other democracies to ensure that this technology promotes greater defense of basic rights. In an address during an inter-ministerial meeting on technology at the third Summit for Democracy that began in Seoul on Monday, Blinken highlighted the global optimism about AI’s potential but at the same time warned that it was "a critical area in which democracy is being challenged.""So while we seek to harness the power of AI and other digital technologies for good, some governments are abusing those same technologies to do just the opposite," the US Secretary of State warned.
