Around $19 billion needed to protect Ecuadorian Amazon, says NGO

Quito, Dec 1 (EFE).- The protection of the Ecuadorian Amazon will require $19 billion worth of funds in the next 10 years, said Thursday a group of environmental organizations that demanded the inclusion of indigenous peoples in the planning and execution of these investments for the climate .

In an assessment of the conclusions of COP27 held in Egypt, this group of Ecuadorian organizations highlighted at a press conference the need to increase financing for mitigation and adaptation to the climate crisis, especially in forest conservation and of biodiversity. (Camera: FERNANDO JIMENO).
