Bill Clinton attends 25th anniversary of Czech Republic's entry into NATO

Prague (Czech Republic), Mar 12 (EFE) - Former US President Bill Clinton received the second highest Czech decoration, the Tomas Garrigue Masaryk insignia, on Tuesday in Prague for "his merits in democratic development and stability in Central and Eastern Europe", the Czech Republic's head of state, Petr Pavel, said at a ceremony.

Pavel bestowed the award on the 25th anniversary of the Central European country's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), along with Poland and Hungary, three former countries in the orbit of the former Soviet Union, a historic milestone that took place on 12 March 1999.
