KING SPAIN AWARDS

Best of Ibero-American photojournalism, 40 years of history in images in Madrid

Madrid, June 13 (EFE).- (Camera: Ramón Ayala).- The EFE Agency has inaugurated in Madrid the exhibition "The most of Ibero-American photojournalism", which celebrates the forty years of the most important journalism awards in Ibero-America, the King of Spain International Journalism Awards.

The exhibition in the Jardines del Campo del Moro, next to the Royal Palace, includes 42 snapshots that have marked the recent history of regions, cities, towns, communities and villages through the lives of the people who inhabit them.

The exhibition is a journey, from 1983 to the present, through events that have made history, such as the rescue of a child after the eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano in Colombia, the arrest of Diego Armando Maradona in an anti-drug raid in Argentina or the Migrants crossing through the Darien jungle in Panama on their way to the United States.

The looks of prestigious photographers such as Sebastião Salgado, Gervasio Sánchez, Pedro Armestre, Rafael Calviño, Márcia Foletto, Wilton de Sousa Junior, Domingos Peixoto or Manuel Salvador Saldarriaga will immerse the visitor, at a glance, in stories that seem to come alive and sound .
