Benito the giraffe's 2,000km journey a triumph for Mexico activists

Ciudad Juárez, Jan 22 (EFE).- Animal rights groups on Monday celebrated the transfer of a giraffe called Benito from the extreme climate of Ciudad Juárez to a zoo in Puebla, saying they will continue their fight against the mistreatment of animals in the country.

Three-year-old Benito was living in the Central Park of northern city of Ciudad Juárez, administered by the state government, and began the almost 2,000-kilometer journey to Puebla on Sunday following a ruling issued by a district judge in the northern state of Chihuahua. (Camera: RAUL MORALES).
