Bardella will defend French interest more in Brussels but without breaking EU rules

Paris (France), Jun 24 (EFE) - The candidate for prime minister of France of the extreme right, Jordan Bardella, stressed Monday his willingness to assert more French interests in Brussels, cut its contribution and lower VAT, but without breaking the rules of the European Union (EU).

"I intend to defend the interests of my country," Bardella said at a press conference when pointed to the concern expressed by European leaders, such as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at the possibility of the extreme right coming to power in France.

He explained that the social democrat Scholz is not part of his political allies and that is why it is normal for him to show "reluctance" to a government of the National Rally (RN) in the French legislative elections of June 30 and July 7.
