LEBANON PROTEST

Bank customers protest in Beirut against capital control law

Beirut, Aug 17 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Wael Hamzeh).- Bank customers protested in Lebanon on Thursday against the so called capital control law implemented.

Since late 2019, Lebanese banks have implemented formal capital controls due to currency shortages, which is why bank customers are demanding to be allowed to withdraw their deposits that have been blocked amid a deep economic crisis.
