Dhaka (Bangladesh), Mar 20 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Monirul Alam) The Bangladesh government on Sunday launched a campaign to give 10 million families (about 50 million people) access to staple foods at subsidized prices. The initiative comes amid high inflation in a country already hard hit by the pandemic.The state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), which operates under the Ministry of Commerce, reported that families across the country, some already registered in the government's covid-19 relief program, have been receiving new cards to purchase food at prices subsidized by the authorities.
