Bangkok, Apr 22 (EFE/EPA).- The centuries-old Wat Thong temple observed Earth Day 2026 on Wednesday by showcasing a pioneering "merit-making" program that transforms household waste into spiritual and structural renewal. Since 2023, the Buddhist temple has encouraged devotees to donate recyclable materials rather than cash, using the proceeds to fund the restoration of its 200-year-old Ayutthaya-era chapel.
