The Avignon Festival turns the papal city into the largest theater stage in the world

Avignon (France), June 28 (EFE).- Thousands of theater posters wallpaper the center of Avignon (southeast France) to announce what will arrive starting tomorrow: the 78th edition of the festival that will transform the city into the world capital of drama for four weeks, with the Spanish as guest of honor.

Theater student Olivier Pedros:

- "It gives a lot of visibility to the companies, especially the small ones. There are quite a few student groups that are still in the process of going to drama school and it gives them a chance to show themselves and meet people.

So the Off Festival is a great opportunity to show what we can do and meet people who might be interested in the skills of our actors. Yes, it's a great opportunity to showcase ourselves."

Theater student Arthur Bertrand:

- "It's an opportunity for both actors and students to get a glimpse of show business in a very immersive way, because we are really surrounded by show business."

Avignon merchant Raphaël Milhau:

- "The festival is bliss, it's the main thing. For a month we are out of time, it's great, there are a lot of tourists, it's a very good time."
