AUR leader George Simion addresses supporters after polls in Romania

Bucharest, Jun 9 (EFE/EPA).– The leader of the ultra-nationalist party AUR (Alliance for the Union of Romanians), George Simion, spoke at the AUR headquarters on Sunday after the first exit-poll results were announced in Bucharest, Romania.

According to the first exit-poll results conducted by Curs-Avangarde, the AUR party won 14 percent of the votes while the ruling alliance PSD-PNL (Social Democracy Party - National Liberal Party) took 54 percent, a better and unexpected result compared to the 2020 elections.
