The Arcelor electric furnace in Gijón will begin production in the first quarter of 2026

Gijón, May 9 (EFE) - The new hybrid electric arc furnace at the ArcelorMittal factory in Gijón will start production in the first quarter of 2026, announced Thursday the CEO of the Productos Largos line in Asturias, Jordi Torné, during the ceremony to mark the start of construction of the equipment, a “milestone” in its decarbonization program in Spain.
