Baghdad, Oct 1 (EFE/EPA).- Hundreds of people, including policemen, were injured in violent clashes that broke out between protesters and the security forces that were trying to prevent them from storming the government's Green Zone during the protests that took place in Baghdad and the southern provinces on the third anniversary of the outbreak of the October 2019 protests, according to medical and security sources.

The United Nations mission in Iraq called for Iraqi protesters and security forces to maintain a peaceful stance regarding the ongoing anti-government protests. (Camera: AHMED JALIL).
