Ancient statues of Jesus Christ worshipped with candles in western Mexican town

San Miguel Hidalgo, Apr 16 (EFE).- Four centuries-old statues of Christ were venerated with candles by dozens of families in the town of San Miguel Hidalgo (western Mexico) early Saturday morning. They see this tradition as a way to strengthen their faith and venerate the death of Jesus Christ.

The night of Good Friday becomes a celebration in San Martín de Hidalgo in the state of Jalisco, combining festivity and Catholic piety. (Camera: JOSE LUIS GONZALEZ).
