Kandahar (Afghanistan), Apr 23 (EFE/EPA) - A recent World Bank report reveals a 26 per cent decline in Afghanistan's gross output last year, mainly attributed to a $1.3 billion revenue shortfall for farmers due to the ban on drug cultivation. While tax revenues saw a modest 13 per cent increase in 2023, exports declined by 15 per cent, specifically to Pakistan. Afghan authorities highlight efforts to stimulate domestic production, improve trade, stabilise the national currency and initiate key economic projects.
