Advocates of women’s rights rally in Bangladesh to mark International Women’s Day

Dhaka, Mar 8 (EFE/EPA).- Advocates of women's rights in Bangladesh held a rally on Tuesday in the country's capital to mark International Women's Day.

International Women's Day, which commemorates the movement for women's rights, was first observed in New York City on Feb. 28, 1909. A year later, the date was officially changed to Mar. 8.

This year's International Women's Day is themed 'Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’. (Camera: MONIRUL ALAM).
