Activists in Philippines call for G7 to help developing countries combat climate change

Manila (Philippines), June 11 (EFE/EPA).- Protesters from groups fighting against climate change called on G7 member countries in Manila on Tuesday to provide financial aid to developing countries.

Specifically, they requested help for developing countries to phase out fossil fuels and build renewable energy systems.

Protesters were blocked during the protest, which headed to the US Embassy in Manila.

The summit of leaders of the G7, the seven richest democracies in the world, will direct, under the Italian presidency, its attention to Latin America, and especially to Venezuela, with the presence of the presidents of Argentina, Javier Milei, and of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, both guests.

The heads of State or Government of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom will meet from this Thursday to Saturday at the Borgo Egnazia hotel complex in the Italian region of Apulia (south) to analyze how each year global geopolitics.
