Activists demand release of political prisoners in Thailand

Bangkok, Nov 9 (EFE/EPA).- Thai activists staged a rally Thursday at the Justice Ministry to call for releasing political prisoners accused of lese majeste law or section 112 of the criminal code, along with claiming rights to bail during the legal battle.

Between November 2021 and October 2023, Thai courts have sentenced 100 people for the crime of lese majeste against the monarchy, with 79 sentenced to up to 28 years in prison. (Camera: NARONG SANGNAK).
