Activists demand release of indigenous woman imprisoned for allegedly murdering her attacker in Mexico

San Cristobal de las Casas, May 6 (EFE).- A group of activists demonstrated Friday in the Mexican city of San Cristóbal de las Casas to demand the release of Juanita, an indigenous woman who is imprisoned for allegedly murdering her attacker.

The group demonstrated outside the Zona Altos State Prosecutor's Office along with women from various organizations to denounce the criminalization of indigenous women and migrant women who were not guaranteed to live free from violence, said the organizer. (Camera: MITZI FUENTES).
