More than 11.6 million students graduate in China | Video

Beijing, Jun 26 (EFE/EPA).- A record 11.6 million students are expected to graduate from universities and colleges across the country this year.

This record number includes an increase in graduates from higher degree programmes, especially in Beijing, according to data released by education authorities.

At a graduation ceremony at Renmin University on Monday, the increase in the number of bachelor's and doctoral graduates underlined this change.

In Beijing alone, the number of students earning these higher degrees is expected to surpass the number of undergraduates for the first time.

These developments indicate that China continues to emphasise the training of a highly skilled workforce to drive innovation and strengthen its global competitiveness. (Camera: WU HAO).
