Nairobi, a day after massive protests against tax increases

Nairobi (Kenya), June 26 (EFE).- At least 23 people were shot dead by the Police in the massive protests this Tuesday in different cities of Kenya against a bill that contemplates tax increases, unprecedented mobilizations in the recent history of the country, confirmed this Wednesday by twenty NGOs.

Ruto withdraws tax hikes bill that sparked protests in Kenya

Nairobi (Kenya), June 26 (EFE).- The president of Kenya, William Ruto, reported this Wednesday that he has refused to sign the controversial bill that contemplates tax increases and that provoked the massive protests that this Tuesday caused at least 23 deaths and led to the assault of Parliament by protesters .
