SPAIN BARCENAS CASE

Barcenas has been summoned today by Balearic Parliament to testify through videoconference on the investigation commission of the Son Espases hospital construction, as he is still trying to pay a 200,000 euros bail imposed by Spanish National Court to be realeased. Barcenas, in preventive detention since 27 June 2013, is still wating for his trial. The former PP treasurer, accused of an alleged deviation to his banking accounts in Switzerland from supposed illegal donations to the PP party as part of the Guertel corruption case, had allegedly accumulated some 48.2 million euros.
