Kospi surges to close at record 6,388.47 points
Seoul (Korea, Republic Of), 21/04/2026.- A financial data screen in the dealing room of Woori Bank in Seoul, South Korea, 21 April 2026, shows the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index having increased 169.38 points, or 2.72 percent, to close at a record high of 6,388.47. South Korean stocks closed at a new historic high, fully erasing their losses since the outbreak of the U.S.-Iran conflict, as investors expect progress in the two countries' peace talks and tech heavyweights gained traction.
