MATALLANA DE TORIO (LEÓN), 05/02/2015.- Un hombre realiza una llamada desde una cabina telefónica hoy en la localidad leonesa de Matallana de Torío, que hoy amanecía completamente nevada debido al temporal de nieve y frío que afecta a toda la provincia y gran parte de España. The intervention of the Spanish Army Emergency Unit (UME), as well as of Guarcia Civil and Civil Defense, has been necessary due to heavy snowfalls that have forced over hundred people to be rescued from their vehicles and spend the night in several towns in Palencia province (northern-central Spain, Leon province (northern-central Spain) and Cantabria region (northern Spain). The snow has also forced the authorities to cut sections of the A-67 and N-611 roads in central and northern Spain. Furthermore, thousands of students missed school. EFE/J. Casares
