The anticorruption operation entittle 'Punica' has arrested former Mayor of Valdemoro and former regional vicepresident of Madrid, Francisco Granados, when Esperanza ruled the Madrid's regional gobernment, and 50 other people, are allegedly related to a corruption plot carried out in some Spanish cities and regions such as Madrid, Murcia, Leon and Valencia, during the last two years. According to the District Attorney's Office, mayors and other people in public office would 'have managed 250 million euros by knocking contracts down in exchange of illegal commissions at expenses of the regional tax offices'.
