IRAN WAR

The Western Wall reopens for prayer following the lifting of restrictions

Jerusalem, Apr. 9 (EFE).- Jerusalem’s holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Western Wall, welcomed worshippers on Thursday after being closed for 40 days by the Israeli government, which had previously cited security concerns stemming from the war with Iran to keep them shut.

On Thursday, dozens of Jews visited the Western Wall, as did Christian worshippers at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, following this nearly six-week hiatus, which has been criticized by some as an excuse by Israel to prevent the observance of Lent, Catholic and Protestant Holy Week, and the final days of Ramadan.
