Washington DC evicts a homeless encampment

Washignton (US), May 16 (EFE/EPA).- Washington DC employees collected tents and other items for destruction during the removal and clean-up of a homeless encampment.

Authorities in the US capital have begun removing and cleaning up several homeless encampments.

Homelessness in the DC region has worsened since the pandemic, with a three percent increase from 2020 to 2024, according to the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.
