Venezuela extracts 76,620 tons of oil-impregnated waste from Maracaibo Lake

Caracas, June 19 (EFE).- Venezuelan authorities, with the help of thousands of volunteers, have extracted 76,620 tons of oil- impregnated waste from Maracaibo Lake, the largest in the country, since mid-2023, when the Government launched a plan to recover the estuary.

TRANSLATION:

"We have removed 76,620 of oiled waste. That is an important figure because let's remember that one of the most important attacks or one of the attacks that came on the lake issue was the oil spills in the face of an imminent and inevitable Venezuelan oil opening, reactivation of our industry, after being practically blocked and sanctioned, obviously there was going to be this type of attack and this type of actions with the Petróleos de Venezuela industry."
