Typhoon Chanthu hits part of Taiwan

Keelung, Sep 12 (EFE/EPA).- Over 2,000 residents in Hualien County of Taiwan were being evacuated to safe locations Sunday as a Typhoon Chanthu hits part of Taiwan.

Typhoon Chanthu was located Sunday around 80 kilometers south-southeast of Hualien, packing with maximum sustained winds of 162 km per hour, with gusts up to 198 km per hour and moving north at a speed of 20 km per hour, according to the Central Weather Bureau. (Camera: RITCHIE TONGO).
