The turban, an identity full of resistance and not a disguise

Cali (Colombia), Aug 14 (EFE), (Camera Irene Escudero) - The turban is not just a colorful adornment, despite being the main guest at the most important Afro festival in Latin America, the Petronio Alvarez, but a sign of black peoples of resistance.

This is the claim of the craftswomen and dressmakers who this weekend exhibit their fashions in this festival that has brought back to the Colombian city of Cali the black culture of the Pacific and that in these four days have dedicated a good part of their time to put turbans on the heads of black, white and mestizo women and girls.
