The 28 new Swiss Guards swear fidelity to Pope Leo XIV

Vatican City, May 6 (EFE).- The 28 new soldiers of the Swiss Guard, the world's smallest and oldest army, took their solemn oath of service before Pope Leo XIV during a ceremony at the Vatican on Wednesday. The event, held in the Paul VI Audience Hall, was closely watched by the pontiff and began with a parade of the new recruits in their traditional gala helmets and armor.
