UEFA EURO: SPAIN-ALBANIA

Spain beats 1-0 Albania with Ferran Torres goal

Dusseldorf, Germany, Jun 24 (EFE).- A goal by Ferran Torres, assisted by Dani Olmo, sealed Spain's 1-0 win over Albania at Euro 2024 on Monday.

"La Roja" is the only team to have scored five goals and conceded none in three games.

After being played through by Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres beat Albania's goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, in the 13th minute with a left-footed shot that hit the right post and went in.

That's 20 goals in 44 international appearances for the 24-year-old Barcelona winger, averaging a goal every six shots.

After the goal, the Spanish team grew and had a few goal opportunities, especially with Jesús Navas and Alejandro Grimaldo on the wing.

Albania tried to equalise with several half-volleys, but Spanish goalkeeper David Raya kept them out.

Ferran's goal was enough for the Spaniards to win the match, leaving the Albanians with nothing to play for and kissing Euro 2024 goodbye.

Spain qualified with nine points out of nine and is waiting for an opponent that will be defined among the best third of groups A, D, E, or F.
