Soldier who killed four people in Germany surrenders to police

Berlin (Germany), Mar 1 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Fabian Bimmer) A German soldier turned himself in to police on Friday after killing four people, including a child, in the western German state of Lower Saxony, police and prosecutors said in a joint statement.

According to the daily "Bild", the victims include, in addition to the child, the soldier's ex-wife, her new partner and mother-in-law.

Police were alerted to a shooting at around 03.30 local time (02.30 GMT) in a single-family house in the town of Scheeßel, after which several officers went to the scene, cordoned off the area and entered the property.
