Nablus, Apr 30 (EFE/EPA).- The West Bank city of Nablus celebrated this Thursday the Jewish Passover at its most sacred site, Mount Gerizim.According to tradition, the Samaritans are descendants of the Jews who were not deported when the Assyrians conquered Israel in 722 BC. This small community has around 840 people, half of whom live in a village on Mount Gerizim, near the Palestinian city of Nablus, and the rest in Holon, near Tel Aviv, in Israel.Camera: Alaa Badarneh.Footage includes images of members of the ancient Samaritan community participating in the ritual of animal sacrifice on the occasion of the Jewish Passover, on Mount Gerizim, in the West Bank city of Nablus.
