Russian attack on Kyiv kills at least five people

KYIV, May 14 (EFE/EPA).— At least five people were killed and around 44 injured after a massive Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian authorities said on Thursday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched 56 missiles and 675 drones overnight, while air defenses intercepted most of them, although several strikes hit residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across the capital and other regions.

Rescue operations continued in Kyiv’s Darnytsky district, where apartment buildings were heavily damaged and several people remained missing under the rubble, according to officials. (Camera: MARCEL GASCÓN).
