Vatican City, Feb 14 (EFE) - (Camera: Antonello Nusca) Pope Francis warned on Wednesday of the vice of laziness, which he said is "a very dangerous temptation" and is "a bit like dying in advance", during the general audience held in the Paul VI Hall."It is a very dangerous temptation. Those who fall victim to this vice, it is as if they were crushed by a death wish: everything disgusts them, their relationship with God becomes boring and even the holiest acts, those that had warmed their hearts, now seem completely useless," the Pope explained.FOOTAGE AND SOUNDBITES OF POPE FRANCIS'S AUDIENCE IN THE PAUL VI CLASSROOM.TRANSLATION:1.This is a very dangerous temptation. Whoever falls victim to this vice is as if crushed by a death wish: he dislikes everything, his relationship with God becomes boring and even the holiest acts, those which had warmed his heart, now seem completely useless to him".2. Acedia is defined as the 'demon of midday', because it catches us in the middle of the day, when fatigue is at its peak and the hours ahead seem monotonous, impossible to live. How many people, in the clutches of acedia, moved by a faceless restlessness, have foolishly abandoned the path of good they had embarked on! The battle of acedia is a decisive one, to be won at all costs.
