Nicaraguan tradition in honour of Santa Ana is kept alive with combat and dance

Nindirí (Nicaragua), Jul 26 (EFE) - Nicaraguan Nelsón Alarcón, 30, wears his face painted black, his hair covered with red flowers, and carries a wooden sword. He is one of the fervent devotees of Santa Ana and San Joaquín in the municipality of Nindirí, on Nicaragua's Pacific coast, where the centuries-old tradition of the 'Chinegros' is kept alive with fighting and dancing.
