Nairobi youths clean up river on World Cleanup Day

Nairobi (Kenya), Sep 20 (EFE/EPA) - Volunteers and members of the Lucky Summer Environmental Waste Management Organization, a consortium of different groups of young environmentalists involved in waste management, cleaned up the banks of the Nairobi River on Friday during a clean-up exercise to mark World Clean Up Day.

Every year, communities around the world gather at rivers and beaches near their homes for World Clean Up Day to combat the growing problem of plastic pollution in waterways.
