TUNISIA PROTEST

Massive protest in Tunisia to demand release of Kais Said's opponents

Tunis, Mar 5 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Mohamed Messara) More than a thousand people defied the government ban on the demonstration called today by the National Salvation Front coalition to demand the "immediate" release of detained opponents and call for an end to what they consider "a coup d'état" of President Kais Said.

Photographs of the lawyers, politicians, journalists and judges, detained in recent weeks, dominated the protest in the center of the Tunisian capital, which follows the massive demonstration yesterday Saturday led by the powerful trade union, UGTT, which also charged against the "one man" policy of the president.
