Legal, technological hurdles slow autonomous vehicle adoption in China

Beijing, Sep 25 (EFE/EPA).- China's autonomous driving industry is transforming the country's employment and technology landscape. It promises to revolutionise transportation while creating a new ecosystem around connected and intelligent vehicles.

Despite remarkable growth driven by policies such as ‘Made in China 2025’, challenges remain, particularly technological and regulatory barriers.

According to a survey by China Science Investment, 86.07% of respondents consider technological limitations to be the main obstacle to mass adoption.

China is investing heavily in autonomous vehicle research, with 20 cities selected as pilot areas to integrate roads, vehicles and cloud technology. (Camera: WU HAO).
