Israeli police seek to extend detention of two Sumud Flotilla activists

Ashkelon, Israel, May 5 (EFE).- Israeli police on Tuesday asked the judge to extend the detention of the arrested activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla—Brazilian Thiago Ávila and Spanish-Palestinian Abukeshek Saif—by six more days. The two are facing a police investigation for terrorism-related offenses after being transferred to Israel. Meanwhile, the lawyers who visited and represent the detained activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla—Brazilian Thiago Ávila and Spanish-Palestinian Abukeshek Saif—reported that both are being held in solitary confinement and are suffering mistreatment at the hands of Israeli authorities.
