Indigenous flutist recovers traditional musical instrument Pinkillu in Ecuador

Quito, Nov 20 (EFE).- The Pinkillu, or " the flute of the Andes", an ancestral musical instrument in the Andean region, has been revived by Rosalino Bautista, known in his village as the last flute player of Pintag.

Rosalino not only makes these small flutes, but also plays the instrument as his ancestors did, with three tunes that remind us of the passing of time, the sun and the wind, together with drums made of sheep leather, which sound like thunder and resistance. (Camera: JOSÉ JÁCOME).

SHOT LIST: THE INDIGENOUS FLAUTIST, ROSALINO BAUTISTA, CALLED THE LAST FLAUTIST OF PINTAG, PLAYS THE PINKILLU DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH EFE, IN QUITO, ECUADOR.
