India celebrates 555th birth anniversary of Sikh guru with procession

New Delhi, Nov 14 (EFE/EPA).- On Thursday, Sikh devotees in New Delhi participated in a vibrant religious procession to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikhism.

The procession is part of the celebrations leading up to Gurupurab, one of the most significant Sikh festivals, which will be observed on November 15.

Sikh communities across India honour this day with prayers, hymns, and public gatherings, paying homage to the teachings and legacy of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. (Camera: RAJAT GUPTA).
