TUNISIA PROTEST

Hundreds of Tunisians protest to demand "immediate" release of Kais Said opponents

Tunis, Mar 5 (EFE) - (Camera: Laura Fernández Palomo) More than a thousand people defied the government ban on the demonstration called on Sunday by the National Salvation Front coalition to demand the "immediate" release of detained opponents and call for an end to what they consider "a coup d'état" by President Kais Said.

TRANSLATION: "I am here in this demonstration to support human rights and the political detainees, who are detained only for their opinion, for gathering. They are threatened by penalties, by serious penalties. That is why we are here to defend human rights, the Republic, the right of opinion, the right of expression. It is a peaceful demonstration.
