German Chancellor's visit strengthens trade, defense ties with India

New Delhi, Oct 25 (EFE/EPA).- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Friday in New Delhi and agreed to strengthen cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and clean energy while addressing current conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

At the press conference following the meeting, Modi highlighted the consensus reached on various initiatives in critical and emerging technologies, capacity building and innovation, which are expected to enhance cooperation in certain sectors.

The leaders also discussed deepening defence ties, and Modi announced the signing of a treaty aimed at combating terrorism and separatism. (Camera: HARISH TYAGI).
