WURZBURG, Germany, May 15 (EFE).— German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Friday that he would not recommend his children travel to the United States to study or work because of what he described as the country’s current “social climate".Merz made the remarks during a public event with young people at the 104th German Catholic Congress in Würzburg, where he was again interrupted by whistles and protest chants.The German leader referred to concerns about social tensions in the United States while addressing questions during the panel discussion.
