Displaced indigenous Mexicans denounce armed violence, demand gov't help

Chenalhó, Mar 4 (EFE).- Tzotzil indigenous people from Chenalhó, a municipality in the southeastern Mexican state of Chiapas, protested Monday following a prolonged armed attack by organized crime, a scourge that plagues the region.

Some 55 Tzotzil Mayan indigenous women and children, victims of forced internal displacement, demonstrated to demand peace and justice from the authorities in the town of Polhó. (Camera: MITZI FUENTES).
