Tunis, Jun 26 (EFE).- Preparations for the Muslim celebration of Eid al-Adha are already underway in Tunisia, where blacksmiths sharpen the tools with which they will slaughter the animals and cut the meat. Eid al-Adha is one of the holiest Muslim holidays of the year. It marks the annual Muslim pilgrimage, known as the Hajj, to visit Mecca. During Eid al-Adha, Muslims sacrifice goats, sheep and cows in commemoration of the Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to God. They divide the flesh into three parts: one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor and needy.FOTOAGEOF BLACKSMITHS IN TUNISIA SHARPENING THE TOOLS WITH WHICH THEY WILL SACRIFICE ANIMALS IN THE MUSLIM CELEBRATION OF EID AL-ADHA.Camera: Mohamed Messara.
