165 people arrive in Lanzarote after being rescued in three operations, one of which involved falls into the sea

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Sep 25 (EFE).- In the last few hours, the Maritime Rescue Service has disembarked 165 people who were on board three dinghys in as many operations in which its vessels Talía, Urania and Al Nair have intervened, one of them involving migrants who fell into the sea and were brought to safety.

After receiving a notice from the Civil Guard alerting that an inflatable boat that had left Tan Tan (Morocco) was in the vicinity of Lanzarote, the Guardamar Talía and the Sasemar 103 aircraft, also from Salvamento, went in search of it.

The device was able to locate the boat, in which 54 people (47 men and seven women) were travelling, 40 kilometres east of the capital of Lanzarote, Arrecife, where they were disembarked at 12:30 p.m., according to sources from the state-owned company who have informed EFE.
