Kolkata, Oct 25 (EFE/EPA).- Authorities in the states of Odisha and West Bengal, in northeastern India, announced Friday the resumption of activity at their airports, paralyzed by Cyclone Dana, which made landfall at midnight, accompanied by heavy rains and winds.

The airports of Bhubaneshwar, capital of Odisha, and Kolkata, capital of West Bengal, were operational again from 8:00 local time (2:30 GMT), airport authorities reported on X after having closed Thursday.

The Indian Meteorological Department estimates the storm will begin to lose strength throughout Friday afternoon. (Camera: PIYAL ADHIKARY).
